This week we have had a fun and thoughtful week celebrating Easter at school. At the beginning of the week we set up an Easter Walk out the front of the school. Children began by making palms in the hall and then moved around to each ‘station’ to understand the events during Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday. Each station explained that part of the story and then had a reflection at the bottom which linked this part of the story to current everyday issues. Due to the rain some of the walk had to be moved inside but many were still able to place a daffodil in the cross outside Year 3 — please do take a look at this. Feedback from pupils about these sessions was extremely positive and the children said they found the whole experience very valuable.
We ended the week with two very lively Easter Services. The services were led by our Head and Deputy Head boy and girl who not only spoke very confidently but also showed great skills in managing our sound system, even when it decided to suddenly stop in the middle of a song! It was wonderful to hear our musical theatre, handbells and drummers all of whom gave some very powerful performances. Thank you to parents, carers and friends who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the services and were able to reflect on the meaning of Easter.
We wish you all a very Happy Easter.
