Our Indoor Athletics team pulled off an amazing achievement yesterday in the NW Essex Indoor Athletics Finals. For the first time ever we have become the NW Essex Indoor Athletics Champions and will represent our region in the County Finals next month in Southend. Up against the best schools from Braintree, Heddingham and Halstead, made up of 50 schools in the area, our team ran, threw, jumped and sprinted their hearts out to secure first place. Lee Warren, a Year 6 pupil, stated on the way home, “I was proud to win both my races and when they announced we’d won I couldn’t believe it!” Aimee Jones also told us, “It was so exciting competing against all the other schools. I’m over the moon to be a champion.” Cailey Hackett added, “When I found out we’d won I jumped up and down shouted Southend here we come!” The team will now be training hard to take on the best schools from the whole of Essex at the County Finals on the 16th March.
