As part of Year 6’s topic on WWII they visited Duxford Museum to experience elements of life in the armed forces during the war. Our pupils were so enthusiastic about the many vehicles they saw and learnt a lot about the differences between those that were British and those from abroad. The scale and number of planes and tanks was very impressive. Many exhibitions were interactive and brought to life this period of history for our pupils. Year 6 were able to have a go at flight simulation, try on wartime outfits and walk through Concorde. All had an informative and brilliant day.
The next day, on Saturday 11th November, some Year 6 pupils accompanied Ms. Lambert to the War Memorial to lay our wreath in remembrance of those who have fallen. Along with Maltings Academy we were the only schools from the Witham area who attended and all the children were a real credit to the school.
