A lovely service was put on by Children at Howbridge Church of England Junior School this week to celebrate Christingle. The school’s choir sang, the handbell ringers played, and children were given their own Christingles complete with glow-stick candles to hold as the lights were dimmed.
The school is closely linked with St Nicolas’ Church in Witham, and it was volunteers from the church who put together the service and made over 120 Christingle oranges.
Abby Ansell, a year 6 pupil, commented, “It has got us all in the Cristmas mood, and I love the glow-sticks. It looked amazing when the lights were dimmed and we sang a carol.”
