Covid-19 & School Closures Announcement – Updated 23.03.20

Following Government guidelines, Howbridge Church of England Junior School is currently closed. We do however continue to operate as best as we can, offering online learning to pupils where possible and are able to provide learning packs for pupils unable to access online resources.

Our school office continues to be open on a very limited basis, if there is no reply, please leave a message and we will get back to you.

For your information, ECC have responded to the Essex Live article with the following statement:

Essex County Council would like to reassure you all that we have not informed any ECC schools to close, please see our statement below.

An Essex County Council spokesperson said: “We have not informed any Essex County Council schools to close for additional time due to coronavirus and they have not been put on alert as stated by the media.”

“There has been no advice from Public Health England or the Department for Education to do this.”

“Should the situation change we will update all of our schools immediately.”

Please find below the latest guidance for educational settings which was updated yesterday evening to reflect the announcements of the government yesterday.  There is a specific document relating to travel guidance following the governments’ change of advice that all overseas trips should be cancelled.
