Being a Church of England school, we always ensure that pupils understand the important festival of Easter. To this end, next week we shall be taking our ’Easter Walk’, which involves every pupil following a trail around the school to recreate important events of the Easter story. This is always well-received and when it is over we return to the classrooms and children have the chance to eat a little bread and take a sip of some blackcurrant juice to symbolise the Last Supper. It is in no way a religious Eucharist but just a chance to reflect on the story. However, if you would prefer your child not to take part in the bread and juice part of the walk, just write a note to your class teacher. Thank you.
