On Thursday 14th January 2016 the whole of Year 5 took part in a Space Day. We were visited by a mobile planetarium to learn more about The Solar System and space exploration. The blacked out purpose built dome gave us a 360 degree realistic viewing of space. We learnt about some star constellations and the Ancient Roman stories about these. Then we learnt about the planets which make up our galaxy. Finally we learnt how astronauts train before space travel and what happens inside the International Space Station. In addition to visiting the dome, we made our own rockets in class and created our own artwork about the planets. All the children were impeccably behaved throughout the whole day and had lots of fun learning all about Space.
