Last Friday Mr Heath, who works at Howbridge, and Mr Ashcroft, a local resident, both brought in some of their vast collections of WWII artefacts for the children to look at. As part of their topic on World War II the children have been trying to imagine what life would have been like for various people including evacuees, soldiers and civilians. Pupils were able to have first hand experience of some of the items that the soldiers would’ve had to carry including food such as spam. They were also able to examine an original World War II jeep as well as the uniforms that were worn. It was a fascinating afternoon which consolidated the children’s understanding of life during this time. Thank you Mike and Gary!
